Digital Art: Fluid Art + Pointillism

I used two techniques for this artwork. The flower is a digital watercolour pour (fluid art). The background utilizes the pointillism technique.

As you might know, I’ve been experimenting with fluid art lately. Tutorials on YouTube showed me how to do it digitally with acrylics, but I (being me) decided to put my own spin on it and use watercolour instead.

I’ve been wanting to try pointillism (think hundreds of tiny dots coming together to form a picture) but I couldn’t find an appropriate brush in Procreate to recreate this method digitally. I think I may have stumbled upon one in the new brush set. And, me being me, I’ve already forgotten its name.

Photography: Artsy ICM

I originally rejected this ICM shot for not being interesting enough. A month or so later, I stumbled upon it in my archives and had second thoughts. Funny how your perspective can change with time.

These are peach-coloured roses with black muslin cloth in the background. By using a slow shutter speed and moving the camera around (a technique called intentional camera movement) this artsy version of reality was produced.
